Spilanthol was extracted from Jambú ( Acmella oleracea ) for the first time . It is also found in Heliopsis longpipes and Sapilanthes oleraceae .

use

It is a powerful insecticide , local anesthetic, and pain reliever . For a long time, traditional medicine used spilanthol to treat toothache, headache, asthma and rheumatism. Spilanthol has many organic activities. It is often used by the cosmetics industry to reduce wrinkles. It causes muscle relaxation, which slows down or inhibits microcontractions in the face. It is also known to be used in mouthwashes and toothpastes as well as bath additives.
