The sports boarding school Bad Sooden-Allendorf is located in Bad Sooden-Allendorf in Northern Hesse . Since 1971 it has offered young competitive athletes the opportunity to combine school, competitive sports and personal development.
Currently (as of June 19, 2019) the boarding school is closed due to a lack of money and austerity measures by the city of Bad Sooden-Allendorf.
School education
All sports boarders attend the Rhenanus School in Bad Sooden-Allendorf, an additive comprehensive school with a grammar school, secondary school and secondary school branch and the upper school level. There, the sports boarders are integrated into the existing classes and courses and have to pass the same school requirements as all other students. If there are learning deficits due to the heavy workload of training and competitions, free remedial lessons are given.
The transition from secondary school class 10 to grade 11 (upper secondary school level) is possible with a qualified secondary school certificate.
In addition to various subject combinations, there is the option of choosing sports science as one of two major subjects in the upper secondary school. The pupils do not end their school career with a "sports diploma", but with the general university entrance qualification .
