Spyrydon Lytvynowytsch
Spyrydon Lytvynowytsch ( Ukrainian Спиридон Литвинович , Polish Spirydion Litwinowicz ; born December 6, 1810 in Urmań , † June 4, 1869 in Lemberg ) was metropolitan of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the Lviv Archeparchy in the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria , today Ukraine .
Life
Spyrydon Lytwynowytsch was ordained a priest on July 19, 1835 and, at the age of 47, on April 8, 1857, was appointed auxiliary bishop in the Archeparchy of Lemberg and titular bishop of Canatha . It was consecrated on May 17, 1857 in Vienna by Ioan Lemeni , the emeritus bishop of Făgăraş and Alba Iulia ( Romania ). The appointment as Metropolitan of Lviv took place on September 28, 1863.
In the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria , as Lviv Metropolitan, he had a virile vote in the Galician Landtag .
