Sri Nagar ( Nepali श्रीनगर , English Shreenagar ) was a Village Development Committee (VDC) in the Nepalese district of Mugu .

At the 2011 census, Sri Nagar had 3,906 inhabitants (2017 male) in 772 households. In 2001 the population was 2972.

As part of restructuring the local level and the creation of Gaunpalikas (rural communities) by merging and abolition of the village development committee on March 10, 2017 Sri Nagar was in the newly created city Chhayanath Rara incorporated .

Even after the dissolution of the VDC, the district administration is located in the main town of the VDC, Gamgadhi . Gamgadhi lies at an altitude of 2100  m . The place is located on a ridge south of the Mugu Karnali river valley . Lake Rara is 4 km west of Gamgadhi.
