Stéphanie Mörikofer
Stéphanie Mörikofer-Zwez , born Zwez-Irlet (born 1943 ) is a habilitation Swiss biochemist and FDP - politician . In 1993, she was the first woman to be elected to the Aargau cantonal government . Until 1999 she headed the health department. Then she took over the finance department until 2001.
Life
After graduating from the ETH Zurich , Stéphanie Mörikofer studied biochemistry, and in 1970 she received her doctorate at the University of Bern with a dissertation entitled Heterogeneity of Erythrocyte Catalase: Relationships between sulfhydryl groups . She then worked for three years as a high school chemistry teacher at the canton school in Schaffhausen . She later lectured at the University of Basel . In 1985 she submitted her habilitation thesis. She is married to the lawyer Oskar Mörikofer, who has also been a member of the FDP for many years, and has two children and four grandchildren. The couple live in Kaiseraugst .
Political activity
Stéphanie Mörikofer joined the FDP in 1973 and completed a classic party career in a wide variety of functions. Her path led her to the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau in 1985 and finally to the Aargau Government Council in 1993 . She made a name for herself as a combative politician . In 2000 she was surprisingly voted out. From 2002 to 2011 she was President of the Spitex Association Switzerland and from 2002 to 2008 President of the Swiss Diabetes Society .
