The Catholic Church of St-Bernard de Menthon in Ferrette (German Pfirt ), a French parish in the Haut-Rhin department in Alsace , was originally built in the first quarter of the 14th century. The church, consecrated to St. Bernard of Menthon , has been on the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique since 1902 .

history

The church was built on the site of a previous building from the 11th century, which belonged to a settlement of the monks of the hospice on the Great St. Bernhard . Around 1450 the church became the property of the Lützel monastery .

Building

In 1912 the old nave was torn down and a new building was built. Only the tower and the choir remained. On July 2, 1914, the new nave was inaugurated by Auxiliary Bishop Franz Zorn von Bulach .

Furnishing

Most of the furnishings were taken from the old church. The main altar dates from 1861.

Leaded glass window

The lead glass windows were created in 1913 by the Ott brothers' workshop in Strasbourg . Among other things, they represent the twelve apostles .
