St-Denis (Cherence)
The Roman Catholic Church of St-Denis in Chérence , a French parish in the Val-d'Oise department in the Île-de-France region , was built from the 12th century. The building has been on the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique since 1962 .
architecture
The parish church consecrated to St. Dionysius was started in the 12th century, from this time the Romanesque nave has been preserved, which is vaulted by a wooden ceiling. It only has small windows. The transept and the choir are Gothic , they are provided with tracery windows and structured by buttresses . The tower, which is Romanesque in the basement and has Gothic windows on the upper floor, rises above the crossing . At the corners it is reinforced by buttresses.
