Chapel of St-Jacques

The Roman Catholic Chapel of St-Jacques in Bannalec , a parish in the Finistère department in Brittany , was built in the 16th century and modified in 1683.

The core late Gothic building with a nave and north aisle made of local granite was supported by the manorial family Mur de Livonet north of Bannalec near the river Isole built. The sacristy was later added to the south of the choir .

The western portal is decorated in the Renaissance style with two twisted half-columns, a keel arch and two finials . The southern portal in the same style has a saint niche above the entrance.

Inside there is a bas-relief from the 15th / 16th centuries. Century with a crucifixion scene .

Only a fragment of the lead glass windows from the time of construction is preserved in the central window of the choir, which is dated around 1550, with an architectural representation. The choir window has tracery in the style of flamboyant Gothic .
