The Roman Catholic Church of Saint-Maximin is located in Metz in the Moselle department . It has been classified as an architectural monument ( Monument historique ) since 1923 .

history

The originally Romanesque church is located in the Outre-Seille district, on the other side of the Seille (Moselle) . It was built between the 12th and 15th centuries. The choir tower with semicircular apse from the end of the 12th century dates from the time it was built. Today's entrance portal comes from the Baroque era and is dated 1753. The church houses stained glass by Jean Cocteau from the 1960s.

The church bears the name of Bishop Maximin von Trier , who died in 347.

The organ was built in 1970 by the organ builder Haerpfer & Erman . The instrument has registers on two manuals and a pedal . The actions are mechanical.
