St-Philibert (Charlieu)
The parish church of Saint-Philibert in Charlieu , a commune in the Loire department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region ( France ), was built by the townspeople in the 13th century. The church is holy Philibert ordained .
history
The church was first mentioned in 1238. The rectangular closed choir is designed in the style of the Burgundian Gothic . The main nave and the side aisles date from the end of the 14th and beginning of the 15th century. The side chapels were built in the late 15th and 16th centuries. In the 19th century the church was extended by two bays and the present facade was added.
Furnishing
The church has a carved and painted choir stalls from the 15th century depicting the twelve apostles . In the choir there are sculptures of St. Philibert and St. Éloi . The stone pulpit from the 15th century is also still preserved.
