The Roman Catholic Church of Saint-Pierre in Monchy-Lagache , a French parish in the Somme department , has been registered in the list of Monuments historiques since 1998 .

construction

The church was built in the Romanesque - Gothic transition style since 1170 . It was rebuilt from the 15th to the 17th century. Interventions took place in the 18th and 19th centuries. The octagonal bell tower on the west facade was blown up by German troops in 1917, but was rebuilt in neo-Romanesque style from 1922 to 1929 by the architect Clément Cocquempot ; the pyramid-shaped tip was changed. The nave and transept in flamboyant Gothic were restored. The Gothic choir from the 13th century has a lancet window. The portal on the south side, damaged during the French Revolution , dates from the 16th century. The glazing in grisaille technique from 1927, which was described as remarkable, was created by Jacques Grüber .
