The St. Andrew's Church is a Protestant church in the municipality Hohe Börde belonging place Mammendorf in Saxony-Anhalt and is part of the parish of Haldensleben Wolmirstedt-the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The church is located in the center of Mammendorf on the east side of Schulstrasse south of the confluence with Kirchstrasse.

Architecture and history

It goes back to the beginning of the 13th century. The church tower to the west of the nave, built from rubble stones , dates from this time . It has small, rounded, closed sound hatches and a portal on its south side. It is covered with a gable roof . The plastered nave of the simple hall church in its current baroque design dates from around 1660. There are high windows in the eastern part, while there are small but two-row windows in the west due to the gallery inside. The choir in the east is designed with a three-sided closure. The roof of the nave is a high gable roof.

The interior of the church is spanned by a wooden barrel ceiling. The painting dates from the 19th century. In the church there is a remarkable rococo altar wall with side passages , which was built in the middle of the 18th century. The sacrament niche, dated 1693, is even older . The pulpit's basket is between two tall pillars and is decorated with small corner pillars. The gallery is two-story and has a swinging parapet. It has a neo-Romanesque organ front.

The late Gothic font dates from the beginning of the 16th century . It is designed with a broad octagonal dome resting on a short shaft. The church pews and stencil paintings date from around 1900.

In the churchyard surrounding the church there are several classical tombstones. Southwest is the the fallen of World War II reminiscent war memorial Mammendorf .

The church is registered as a monument in the local monument register under registration number 094 75193 .
