St. Apollinaris in Winnerath

The Catholic branch church of St. Apollinaris in Winnerath , a local community in the Ahrweiler district in the north of Rhineland-Palatinate , was built in 1666. Dedicated to Saint Apollinaris consecrated church as a monument protected.

history

The chapel in Winnerath, the place is first mentioned in 1501, was built in 1666 according to a visit report. In 1926 a sacristy was added and in 1931 the gallery was enlarged. The bell tower , designed as a roof turret , was renovated in 1898 and re-covered with slate . The last renovation of the building took place from 1999 to 2001 and at the same time the lead glass windows were restored by the Binsfeld glass painting company in Trier .

Furnishing

The baroque altar dates from the second half of the 17th century. In its middle niche there is a statue of St. Apollinaris, to the left of St. Maternus and on the right St. Mary Magdalene . The altar is crowned by a statue of the Queen of Heaven . An altar cross from the 18th century is also in the choir.
