The church is a Romanesque country church , which was consecrated around 1190 by Eichstatt Bishop Otto . The nave is almost square, under the roof there is an attic which was probably also used for storing grain in the past. In the 18th century the interior of the church was redesigned in Baroque style. In 1843 the upper floor of the tower was rebuilt. The list of monuments for Eichstätt of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation describes the church as follows:

"Kath. Filialkirche St. Benedikt, in the core Romanesque choir tower church with semicircular apse, consecrated around 1190, renewed in the 18th century, top of the tower with transverse gable roof in 1843; with furnishings; cemetery wall, 18th century"

It is entered in the list of monuments as number D-1-76-123-308 .

Church interior

In the church there are late Gothic figures of St. Barbara , St. Catherine , St. Mary and St. George . There is also a sacrament niche by the Renaissance master Loy Hering . In the apse there is a baroque high altar.

Bells

The bell tower has a five-part bell. Four of the bells were made by Friedrich Wilhelm Schilling in 1962, one bell was created by the Eichstatt bell founder Mathias Stapf in 1772.
