The Roman Catholic branch church St. Bonifatius is the village church of Windshausen, a district of the Hohenroth community in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön-Grabfeld . Hohenroth is part of the parish community "Don Bosco Am Salzforst". The church is one of the architectural monuments of Hohenroth and is registered together with the churchyard wall under the number D-6-73-135-18 in the Bavarian list of monuments .

history

Windshausen was a branch of the Burgwallbach parish . The church was built in the neo-Gothic style in 1889 and replaced a dilapidated older church building.

description

The church tower has a pointed spire and stands in the east as a choir tower . Its basement serves as a choir . The nave with a gable roof has three window axes . The windows of the church are ogival with tracery .

Furnishing

The equipment consists essentially of the neo-Gothic high altar . The organ on the western gallery is a work by Franz Hochrein ( Mühlbach ) from 1890. The church has a remarkable ringing of five bells with the tones f '- g' - a '- c ″ - d ”.
