St. Brigid Iceland ( English , Bulgarian . Остров Св Бригита ostrow Sw [eti] Brigita ) is an icy, km in southwest-northeast orientation 2.7 long, 1.4 km wide and 222 hectares large island in the archipelago of Biscoe Islands west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is the largest of the Barcroft Islands 1.28 km south of Watkins Island , 1.18 km west of Irving Island , 3.9 km north of Bedford Island and 3 km southeast of Belding Island .
The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2020 after Saint Brigida of Kildare (≈451–523).
