The St. George River is a river in the north of the Australian state of Queensland , in the Far North Queensland region on the Cape York Peninsula .

geography

River course

The river has its source in the Atherton Tablelands , part of the Great Dividing Range , about 110 km west of Cooktown . It flows first to the northwest and west to the confluence of the Little Kennedy River . Then he turns his course north and accompanies the Palmerville Road to the St. George River Outstation , where it flows into the Kennedy River .
