Oliver Kniffki

Oliver Kniffki (born August 12, 1973 in Hanover ) is a German actor .

Life

Oliver Kniffki trained as an actor at the Actors Studio and the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in New York City from 1998 to 2000 . In New York he played theater, among others at the Marilyn Monroe Theater, the Brecht Forum and the Curan Reportory Company. He continued his education from 2000 to 2001 at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) in London . During his training Kniffki worked there in various productions at the LAMDA Theater, London. In it he played Ferdinand in Der Sturm (2000), Heartfree in the comedy The provoked wife of John Vanbrugh (2001) and the male title role in Antonius and Cleopatra (2001).

In 2001 he played Hector in a production of the play The Trojan War Does Not Take Place at the Edinburgh Theater Festival . In 2002 he assumed the role of Chevalier Danceny in the play Dangerous Liaisons by Christopher Hampton at a staging in the Cultural bread factory in Berlin .

Kniffki has also appeared in several films since the late 1990s . First he made several short films . This was followed by an appearance in Christian Zübert's debut film Lammbock . In the independent film Die Eylandt Recherche (2008), Kniffki played the role of Andreas Stendahl; he played the husband of the granddaughter of the main female character Josefine Eylandt.

He had a continuous leading role in the series in 2005 as team captain Torsten Bader in the RTL television series The Secret Life of Players' Women . He has had leading episode roles and supporting roles in various other television series since 2002, including in Section 40 (2002), Doppelter Einsatz (2006, as Max), Ein Fall für Zwei (2007, as Scientific Assistant Ulrich) and in the comedy series The Most Incredible Stories (2008, as Arno).

In 2011 he was seen in the ARD television series Rote Rosen in several episodes (from episode 1134) each in a leading role. He embodied Kai Maiwald, the best friend of the series character Christoph Langer and chief financial officer in his company.

Kniffki also worked in various documentaries , docu-dramas and commercials (including for C&A and Lufthansa ).

Kniffki lives in Berlin.
