The Kennedy River is a river in the north of the Australian state of Queensland , in the Far North Queensland region on the Cape York Peninsula .

geography

River course

The river has its source in the Atherton Tablelands , part of the Great Dividing Range , about 150 km west of Cooktown and about 20 km southeast of the King Vale Outstation . It flows north-northeast and passes under the Peninsula Developmental Road about 15 km northwest of Fairview . Then enters Lakefield National Park . Approx. 8 km east of the settlement Lakefield it flows into the Normanby River .
