The Rinyirru National Park (English Rinyirru (Lakefield) National Park (CYPAL) , formerly Lakefield National Park ) is a national park in the Australian state of Queensland , 1,707 kilometers north of Brisbane . He is by the local Aborigines, the lama llama and Kuku Thaypan strain, and the clans of Bagaarrmugu, Mbarimakarranma, Muunydyiwarra, Magarrmagarrwarra, Balnggarrwarra and Gunduurwarra together with the National Park Service of Queensland under the state Cape York Peninsula Aboriginal Land (CYPAL) managed .

The national park is the second largest national park in Queensland and a popular place for fishing and camping. It can be accessed by road either from Cooktown or Laura .

The park is very remote, so visitors should stock up on groceries, gasoline, and other essentials before leaving Cooktown or Laura.

In the park itself there are two stations manned by rangers, where you can get information or help in emergencies. There is a driveway through Lakefield National Park, but during the rainy season (e.g. from December to April or May) it is very limited. Unattended campsites are also available. About three kilometers from this trail is Low Lake , which is particularly popular with ornithologists for its abundant bird life. Saltwater Creek is also a popular destination in the park, where saltwater crocodiles live . Other animals that can be observed are kangaroos and wallabies .

The park has IUCN category II.

The national parks Alwal , Lama Lama , Cape Melville , Jack River and Melsonby (Gaarraay) are in the vicinity .
