St. James the Elder Ä. (Remblinghausen)
The Catholic parish church of St. Jakobus d. Ä. is a listed church building in Remblinghausen , a district of Meschede , in the Hochsauerlandkreis , in North Rhine-Westphalia .
History and architecture
Originally, the right of presentation lay with the Meschede Abbey . The pen suggested the pastors and introduced them. The right was granted in 1319 by Archbishop Heinrich II . The hall church of four yokes was built from 1754 to 1755 according to an inscription. Due to the narrow cross vaults and the drawn-in choir with a three-sided end, it still looks almost Gothic . The vault in the choir is made of quarry stone, the one in the nave is made of clay framework . The stately west tower was built in 1755. Remnants of a previous Romanesque church were found during renovation work in 1980. The church is located on the Way of St. James , which leads to Santiago de Compostela .

- A life-size wooden figure from the 16th century depicts Christ at rest
- A seated wooden figure of St. James from the 15th century
