The St. Johannes Catholic Chapel is a listed church building on Schoneberger Strasse in Schoneberg , a district of Lippetal in the Soest district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

History and architecture

The neo-baroque , plastered hall church with four bays was built according to the name in 1913 and replaced a previous building built between 1831 and 1832. The design for the new building came from the Soest architect Josef Ferber .

The choir is just closing, the tower , with its curved gable roof and lantern, is to the west. The corners of the chapel are rounded, the walls are structured by windows in the form of standing ovals with laterally extended posts. The swinging portal is faced with sandstone . A barrel vault with stitch caps was drawn into the interior . The wooden altarpiece with a crucifixion group from the first half of the 18th century is remarkable .
