St. John the Baptist

The Protestant village church of St. John the Baptist stands on the outskirts of the village of Kaltohmfeld in the district of Leinefelde-Worbis in the Eichsfeld district in Thuringia .

In 1588 a Protestant village church called "John the Baptist" was built on the outskirts of the village. This was demolished in 1655 and today's church was built on its land .

On the cornice above the portal that's coat of arms of the Patrons of Wintzingerode attached.

In the nave there are galleries on the west and north sides. They stand on carved supports. The pulpit is provided with niches in which the figures of the evangelists Matthew , Mark , Luke and John are shown standing. The altar has an essay in which the predella is the painted representation of the baptism of Jesus by John in the Jordan . There is a picture of the Lord's Supper above .

The bells are from 1595 and 1745.
