The Catholic pilgrimage church of St. Judas Thaddäus in Heisterbacherrott , a district of the city of Königswinter in the North Rhine-Westphalian Rhein-Sieg district , was built between 1890 and 1892. The church in the center of the village is dedicated to St. Jude Thaddäus . The building is made of rubble stones ( latite blocks ) from the Stenzelberg and contains relics of the saint and a miraculous image with his representation. The church building stands as a monument under monument protection .

history

The parish church was built after a design by the architect Franz Schmitz , with the execution were Theodor Ross and edge entrusted. At the request of the founder, Theodor Schiffers from Aachen, it was consecrated to Saint Judas Thaddäus. A picture of the parish patron, today's image of grace , came from the parish of Niederdollendorf in 1895/96 . It shows the saint as a half-length figure with a palm branch in his arm; in front of his chest he holds a medallion with the bust of Jesus. In 1911, Rector Jakob Schmidt acquired a relic of the saint.

In 1965 the church was expanded according to plans by H. Lob, in the course of which a new entrance was built on the south side.
