St. Ludgerus (Albachten)
The Catholic Church of St. Ludgerus is a listed church building in Albachten , a district in the south-western part of the west district of Münster in North Rhine-Westphalia . The St. Ludgerus Church is a branch church of the Catholic parish of St. Liudger.
history
An original episcopal church was founded in the first half of the 11th century. The parish is first mentioned in a document in 1283.
The hall church , built in neo-Gothic style, was built in 1884 according to plans by August Hanemann and expanded from 1977 to 1978.
Furnishing
- Late Romanesque font with a magnificent tendril frieze from 1230 to 1250
- Stone late Renaissance pulpit with richly decorated figures from 1604. It was created by Johann Kroeß and was probably the first pulpit in the Petrikirche in Münster around 1604 .
- Wooden crucifix from the first half of the 13th century; the arms were later renewed.

organ
The organ was built in 1983 by the organ building company Fleiter (Münster). The slider chest instrument has 19 stops (1326 pipes) on two manuals and a pedal. The key actions are mechanical, the stop actions are electrical.
