The Roman Catholic Church of St. Margaretha in Zimmer , a district of Grünsfeld in the Main-Tauber district , is a Baroque church built around 1768.

history

The parish church of St. Margaretha is a baroque building . It was built in 1768, instead of a church that had been demolished due to dilapidation, according to plans by the Würzburg court architect JM Fischer. A special work of art is the Urban statue, which was created by an unknown master between 1480 and 1500. Today the church belongs to the pastoral care unit Grünsfeld-Wittighausen of the deanery Tauberbischofsheim , the Archdiocese of Freiburg .

Furnishing

The parish church of St. Margaretha in Zimmer has four bells from the Friedrich Wilhelm Schilling bell foundry in Heidelberg, which were manufactured in 1958. These are installed in the middle above the entrance in a bell tower with an old steel belfry. A very old clockwork, which is no longer in operation, is still kept below the bell chamber on one of the tower mezzanines. Today the tower has electrically operated dials on three sides.
