history

Prehistory: Reformation and Counter-Reformation

The Lutheran creed was once introduced by the local rulers. The Walderdorff family and the barons von Bettendorff , as patron saints, carried out the Counter-Reformation with the result that their subjects became Catholic. In 1651 the Simultaneum took place , so that the Protestant and Catholic faith was granted free exercise. A Catholic parish was founded between 1764 and 1770. A controversial old church was subsequently demolished and in 1780/81 a separate small church with a ridge was built for each denomination.

The Marienkirche

The Marienkirche was built in 1781 and rebuilt inside in 1958, with parts of the outer, baroque predecessor building being preserved.

The Eubigheim Marienkirche thus belongs to the pastoral care unit Boxberg-Ahorn, which is assigned to the deanery Tauberbischofsheim of the Archdiocese of Freiburg . Branches of the parish, founded in 1770, are Neidelsbach and Hohenstadt . A diaspora location is Buch am Ahorn .

Church building and equipment

It is a new building from 1958 with a baroque facade from 1781 with a Pietà niche above the main entrance.
