The Roman Catholic village church of St. Marien is located in the Bischofferode district of the rural community Am Ohmberg in the Eichsfeld district in Thuringia .

history

This village church is the successor to two older predecessors. It was built in 1932. The church tower was built in 1608 by one of the two predecessors. The nave , designed in neo-Gothic style, was removed, rebuilt and redesigned by the sculptor Friedrich Press .

The life-size figure of the crossed Christ dominates the room .

The choir is dedicated to the mystery of the three holy days (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter). With the Garden of Gethsemane , the higher delimitation of the sanctuary is limited. The table fellowship of Jesus' last supper with the twelve apostles is indicated.

The organ was built by Karl-Heinz Schönefeld from Stadtilm .
