history

Church building

A church in Biersdorf is mentioned for the first time in 1330. There are no more traces of this church today. Between 1907 and 1908, today's three-aisled, neo-Romanesque church with a semicircular apse , transepts and a bell tower in front was built elsewhere . The plans for this come from the Cologne architect Eduard Endler . In 1988 the interior of the church was restored.

parish

The parish of Biersdorf also includes the branch communities of St. Maria in Echtershausen , St. Blasius in Niederweiler (Eifel) and St. Markus in Wiersdorf .

Furnishing

In the church there are paintings by the Munich artist Nicolaus Kraemer from 1927. Furthermore, almost all of the neo-Romanesque furnishings with high altar , two side altars and pulpit have been preserved.
