The Roman Catholic Church of St. Michael is the parish church of Euerbach in the Lower Franconian district of Schweinfurt . It belongs to the architectural monuments of Euerbach and is registered under the number D-6-78-128-10 in the Bavarian list of monuments .

history

Before this church existed, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Cosmas and Damian had been used as a simultaneous church since 1711 . As a result, there were always disputes. To end this, the village lords of Münster decided to build a Catholic church as a palace church and commissioned the architect Balthasar Neumann . According to his plans, the church was built between 1738 and 1746. The upper lock still exists today, while the lower lock was demolished in 1968. In 1970 a new church was built, separated from the old church by the parish hall.

The church is decorated in the Rococo style. The high altar consists of a crucifix above the tabernacle , flanked by four figures of saints. On the side altars you can see paintings by Georg Sebastian Urlaub . At the pulpit there are figures of the four evangelists .
