St. Michael (Reinstädt)
The St. Michael Church is a fortified church in Reinstädt in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish Orlamünde in Kirchenkreis Eisenberg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
History and architecture
In the Middle Ages , the church was part of a fortification surrounded by a defensive wall. From the former castle which is still Kemenate received. At the church there are remains of let battlements , loopholes and Gießerker recognize.
The church, which is now restored in the late Gothic style , was completed and consecrated in 1473. Since then it has received various fittings and modifications. From 1981 to 1992 it was completely renovated and restored. Particularly noteworthy is the late Gothic stencil painting still preserved on the ceiling.
In addition to bi-weekly church services , the congregation occasionally offers musical events and group offers.
organ
The organ was built in 1742/1743 by Johann Heinrich Scherff , who reused material from the previous organ . The prospect pipes in the side panels are made of wood with silver-leaf plating, which is more characteristic of southern Thuringia. Justin Ehrenfried Gerhardt added trumpet 16 ′ in 1751 . Around 40% of the pipework was reconstructed in 2008 during restoration by Gerd-Christian Bochmann. The original glockenspiel consists of 25 bowl bells. The instrument has 19 registers , which are divided between two manuals and a pedal . Two empty loops are prepared for expansion. The disposition is as follows:
