The church

The listed Evangelical Lutheran Church St.Nicolaus and St. Margaret is in the municipality Dingsleben in Hildburghausen in Thuringia .

history

The village church stood at the end of the village, where the cemetery is still today . It was once subordinate to the Veßra monastery . In the 14th century it became a daughter church of Reurieth until about 1530 it became a parish church . It is now affiliated with Reurieth again. The Thirty Years' War left its mark on the church and village . It was not until 1663 that the faithful could celebrate their services in the church. In 1740 the church had to be demolished because it was in disrepair . The current church was built in the center of the village by 1742.

Furnishing

The altar is the choir screen , with balusters and columns , separated decorated and fitted with two doors from the other church. The reading pulpit is in the middle of the room.

The font is covered by the reading pulpit. The organ is on the second gallery and has a baroque front . It was built in 1770 by Johann Georg Henne from Hildburghausen together with his father-in-law Johann Christian Dotzauer .
