Dingsleben is a municipality in the Hildburghausen district in the Franconian south of the Free State of Thuringia . She belongs to the administrative community Feldstein . The administrative seat is in the city of Themar .
location
From a spatial perspective, Dingsleben is located in the city triangle of Hildburghausen , Römhild and Themar and at the foot of the Gleichberge in southern Thuringia. The district road 510 opens up the area and leads to other paths through the Grabfeld in the Henneberger Land . The neighboring towns are Sankt Bernhard and to the east Zeilfeld . The terrain is strongly undulated , but climatically influenced by the Schweinfurt basin .
history
Dingsleben was first mentioned in a document when the abbess Emhild of the Milz Monastery transferred it and its affiliations to the Fulda Monastery on February 3, 799 . During the time of the tribal duchies, the place was in the Duchy of Franconia . In terms of rulership, the place in the Themar office initially belonged to the county of Henneberg , after 1583 to various Saxon duchies and from 1826 to Saxony-Meiningen .
In the course of the turmoil of the revolution of 1848, it was occupied by troops from the Kingdom of Bavaria , the “ penal Bavaria ”. In 1895 a brewery was founded that still exists as the Metzler private brewery in Dingsleben . In 1920 Dingsleben came to the state of Thuringia . On the morning of April 8, 1945, residents, together with forced laborers from Poland and Russia, removed the anti- tank barrier set up by the Wehrmacht in order to allow the US troops to move freely.
