St. Nikolai

The Protestant village church St. Nikolai is located in the middle of the Dietzenrode district of the Dietzenrode-Vatterode municipality in the Eichsfeld district in Thuringia .

history

In 1829 the church building got its present form. It consists of a nave and a rectangular closed, not detached choir , above which the church tower rises. The spire is pointed and it is supported by a half-timbered floor.

In the eastern part of the complex, the old masonry of the nave and the substructure of the tower was rebuilt. The western part with the spire and south portal as well as the weather vane with the year 1829 were added.

Furnishing

The interior of the church and the choir are provided with a flat wooden barrel . The furnishings are from the 19th century, simple and simple.

The larger bell bears an inscription with the year 1587 and an ornamental frieze with lilies . The small bell was cast in Freienhagen in 1849 .
