St. Paulus in Maulburg im Wiesental is a Roman Catholic branch church built in the mid-1960s .

history

The church, built between 1965 and 1966, was designed by the Lörrach architect Josef Ebert. The benediction took place on January 19, 1967, the consecration was carried out on May 16, 1971 by the Freiburg Auxiliary Bishop Karl Gnädinger .

description

In front of the church is a small forecourt. The entire property is located in a central residential area of ​​Maulburg. The main building of the church has an irregular hexagon in plan . On the side of the church interior, the side walls are bent several times and have large window fronts designed by the Constance artist Maximilian Bartosz . The large aluminum portals were created by Alfred Riedel from Freiburg. The free-standing bell tower with a square floor plan is connected to the main building via a connecting structure. The tower is closed with a pent roof and has a cross at its top.

Inside the church there is a wooden ceiling that adapts to the very flat gable roof . The altar in the slightly retracted choir consists of a gray limestone block that rests on a massive block. The altar cross and tabernacle were designed by F. Spintzik. A large figure of Christ dominates the altar. To the left of the altar there is an ambo , to the right a statue of the Madonna with a child.

The organ , built by Xaver Mönch in 1947 , came to the Pauluskirche in 1971 and was overhauled by the same workshop in the year it was moved. The instrument with membrane drawer and with pneumatic performance and stop action has two manuals , a pedal and 19 stops .
