St. Servatius and Dorothea (Müllenbach)
The Catholic parish church of St. Servatius and Dorothea in Müllenbach , a local parish in the Ahrweiler district ( Rhineland-Palatinate ), was built in 1923/24. The building on Kirchstrasse is a protected cultural monument .
history
The previous building from the 17th century had become too small for the growing population and was therefore replaced by a new building. The former chapel of St. Servatius and Dorothea, which still exists today, served as a youth home and theater for a long time.
description
The St. Servatius and St. Church consecrated to Dorothea is an exposed quarry stone building with five axes . The neo-Baroque hall structure with hipped roof was on September 6, 1928 the Trier Bishop Franz Rudolf Bornewasser consecrated . The last major renovation took place in 1993/94.
organ
In 1952 the organ building company Ernst Seifert from Bergisch Gladbach installed a new organ .
Leaded glass window
The lead glass windows were installed by H. Maier glass painting in Bad Neuenahr . Some are ornamental windows, others represent St. Elisabeth of Thuringia , St. Servatius, God the Father and St. Cäcilia . As a war window, a tondo commemorates the fallen of the First World War .
