History and architecture
The building stands on a closed, enclosed space. The original church was built around 1000 as a hall church with a rectangular choir and apse . In the middle of the 13th century an extension was made, the church was then a two-bay hall building with a transept and choir square . The strong west tower with numerous split arched openings was built in the twelfth century. The Welsche hood and the roof turret were put on in 1715. The church was completely restored from 1975 to 1980.
On December 31, 1984, the church was added to the list of architectural monuments in Lippetal .

The church has four bronze bells in the west tower and a small bell (5) in the choir tower. The choir tower bell / Klepp bell was originally cast for Nieheim, once traded in and installed in the roof turret in Oestinghausen in 2011. Bell 4 was originally made in Breslau and was brought to Oestinghausen from the Hamburg bell cemetery in 1952 after World War II.
