St. Vitus is the Catholic parish church of Veitshöchheim .

A Romanesque church was built on the same site around 1200 and was protected by St. Vitus (Veit), whose name passed to the place. The tower has been preserved from this building.

The nave was replaced at the end of the 17th century by a rectangular hall church with a Gothic choir and a representative facade . The portal front shows forms of the Roman Baroque .

The rich baroque furnishings include the high altar with the altarpiece of the St. Vitus Martyrium, two side altars, pulpit , baptismal font and other figures of saints.

The building of the church was arranged by the Würzburg prince-bishop Johann Gottfried von Guttenberg , whose coat of arms is placed above the main portal . At about the same time he had started building Veitshöchheim Castle . The funds were provided by the St. Stephen's Monastery , to whose lands Veitshöchheim belonged until the secularization of 1803. Ordained was St. Vitus on July 17 1691st
