Feuerthal Church

The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Wendelin is the village church of Feuerthal , a district of Hammelburg in the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen . It belongs to the architectural monuments of Hammelburg and is registered under the number D-6-72-127-106 in the Bavarian list of monuments .

history

The church was built around the middle of the 13th century. The massive church tower and the choir are still preserved from her. The sacristy is of a later date. The nave was built by the architect Fritz Fuchsenberger between 1928 and 1935.

description

The nave with three window axes has a flat roof. The eastern choir has a star vault and two windows. The two-story church tower is on the south side.

Furnishing

Of the old interior, the church only contains the rococo-style pulpit with the four evangelists . On the right side altar you can see a white figure of St. Wendelin with gilding and gilded animals, on the left side altar the likewise white St. Mary with the child. In the windows of the choir St. Agnes with the lamb and brother Conrad are depicted.

Peal

The remarkable ringing of five bells is the result of a redesign in 1934 and was consecrated on March 31, 1935. The bells, cast in 1934, are works by the F. Otto bell foundry in Hemelingen / Bremen . According to a delivery list from the years 1930–32, the latter had already delivered a bell for the Wendelinus Church beforehand: strike tone c sharp, diameter 774 mm, weight 280 kg.
