St Fergus ( Gaelic : Peit Fhearghais ) is a village in the Scottish Council Area Aberdeenshire in the Committee Area Buchan . It is located about three miles north-northwest of Peterhead and 10 miles south-southeast of Fraserburgh in the traditional Scottish county of Banffshire . In 2011 St Fergus had 742 inhabitants. The patron saint is Saint Fergus , who had a basilica built on this site .
In 1977 a gas terminal for the Frigg gas field was built near St Fergus . St Fergus is connected to the transport network by the A90 .
