Paraíba State Championship (women's football)

The Paraíba State Women's Football Championship ( Portuguese Campeonato Paraíbano de Futebol Feminino ) is the women's football club championship of the Paraíba state in Brazil , which has been held since 2008 by the Federação Paraibana de Futebol (FPF) .

history

An official championship for women's football was first held in Paraíba in 2008. Eight clubs took part in it, after which there were six up to and including the 2017 season. All previous championship clubs are based in the state capital João Pessoa .

The national championship determines qualification for the Copa do Brasil Feminino and, since 2017, qualification for the second division (Série A2) of the Brazilian championship .
