The Rio Grande do Norte state championship for women's football ( Campeonato Potiguar de Futebol Feminino in Portuguese ) is the women's football club championship of the state of Rio Grande do Norte in Brazil , which has been held by the Federação Norte-Riograndense de Futebol (FNF) since 2012 .

The state championship was established in 2012 by the FNF to determine a participant for the Copa do Brasil Feminino, which was held for the first time that year . Since 2017, the qualification for the second division (Série A2) of the Brazilian championship has been decided through them .

history

The first two finals for the national championship were played on February 4 and 8, 2012, which the América FC team won 4-1 and 5-0 against Monamy FC .

The level of the state championship is low and moves at amateur level. In 2012 and 2015 four clubs took part, in 2017 five and 2018 only three clubs. The 2013 championship was supposed to be decided in just one game between two participants, but in the end it was scored on the green table for Monamy FC because the opposing team did not appear on the scheduled date.
