State Championship of Tocantins (women's football)
The Tocantins state championship for women's football ( Portuguese Campeonato Tocantinense de Futebol Feminino ) is the association championship in women's football of the state of Tocantins in Brazil , which has been held by the Federação Tocantinense de Futebol (FTF) since 2013 .
A football championship for women does not exist in the name of the poorly populated Tocantins. To participate in the Copa do Brasil Feminino , the national association nominated a club from 2007 to 2013, or had it determined between two clubs in a playoff. Since 2013, the association has been organizing a football competition for women's teams, which is integrated into the annual Torneio Interestadual de Futebol , which lasts several days and which until then was exclusively aimed at young boys. The tournament, which took place in 2013, was already its twentieth edition. Since then, the tournament has been used to determine the state representative for the national competitions for the Copa do Brasil, or since 2017 for the second division of the national championship (Série A2) of the following year, which means that his win is equivalent to that of a championship. The sporting level of the competition is at an amateur level. Most of the time, no more than four clubs take part.
In 2016, AA Estrela Real waived his right to start in favor of the Paraíso EC at the Copa do Brasil 2016 for financial reasons. Paraíso, in turn, waived his right to start in the Série A2 2018 in favor of Gurupi EC .
