The Stade Joseph-Moynat is a football stadium with an athletics facility in the French commune of Thonon-les-Bains in the Haute-Savoie department , Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes . The facility in the east of the country offers 5,000 places.
It is named after Joseph Moynat , a resistance fighter in World War II . The stadium was the home of FC Évian Thonon Gaillard until the club was promoted to Ligue 2 in 2010 . The club played in the Stade Municipal Louis Simon (2,000 places) in Gaillard until 2005 , but this did not meet the requirements of the National (D3) . So the club moved to the Stade Joseph-Moynat (5,000 places) in Thonon-les-Bains.
The Thonon Black Panthers American football team also plays its home games at the Stade Joseph-Moynat .
