description
The curtain wall was built in the second half of the 14th century. The city fortifications are said to have had 32 towers. The city fortifications were connected to the castle fortifications in the southeast corner of the city, where the outer fortification walls and flanking towers date back to the 13th century. Artificial moats and ponds are located in front of the city fortifications or the Abens river was used on the south side. The Regensburg Gate is on the east side .
