List of architectural monuments in Abensberg

The monuments of the Lower Bavarian town of Abensberg are compiled on this page . This table is a partial list of the list of architectural monuments in Bavaria . The basis is the Bavarian Monument List , which was first drawn up on the basis of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act of October 1, 1973 and has since been managed by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation . The following information does not replace the legally binding information from the monument protection authority.

Town square ( location )	Ensemble market place	The roughly triangular small market square takes up the three main streets that lead from Regensburg, Freising / Munich and Kelheim to the settlement first mentioned in 1143, which developed into a market under the protection of the castle of the Counts of Abensberg and received city rights around 1400. A fourth, inner-city street provides the connection to the extensive castle complex, which was orphaned after the counts died out in 1485, largely destroyed in the Thirty Years' War and then further dilapidated. The square is mostly three-story, in the core often the 16th / 17th. Century built bourgeois gabled houses, the facades of which have been partly redesigned in the forms of the Baroque and the historicism of the 19th century. The late-Gothic gable building of the town hall and the large brewery inn on the east side, built in historicizing forms at the beginning of the 20th century, set the dominant accents in the square.
