Ludwigshafen City Library

The Ludwigshafen City Library is the library of the city of Ludwigshafen am Rhein .

Its origins go back to 1875. The central library building was opened in 1963 in the city center by the philosopher Ernst Bloch , son of the city of Ludwigshafen am Rhein. This includes the adult library, the children's and youth library and the music and media area. There are also branches in the districts of Edigheim , Friesenheim , Gartenstadt , Mundenheim , Oggersheim , Oppau , Rheingönheim and Ruchheim .

Since 2007, the library has been participating in the LITexpress, a network of 163 public and academic libraries in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. In addition, she is a founding member of the Metropol-Card, which enables joint borrowing in 21 cities and communities in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region , including Mannheim and Heidelberg .

The Ludwigshafen Art Association is located in the back building .
