List of parishes in City Deanery 16 (Archdiocese of Vienna)

The Stadtdekanat 16 is a dean's office in the Vicariate of Vienna city of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vienna .

It comprises six parishes in the 16th district of Vienna Ottakring with 31,613 Catholics (as of 2004). The Flötzersteig church of the Starchant parish is located in the 14th district of Penzing in Vienna .

Diocesan development process

On November 29, 2015, development areas were defined for all parishes in the Archdiocese of Vienna. The parishes should work more closely together in the development areas, form parish associations or pastoral care rooms. At the end of the process, new parishes should emerge from the development areas. The following development areas were defined in the city dean's office 16:

  • Maria Namen, Neuottakring and Schmelz
  • Altottakring, Sandleiten and Starchant
