List of parishes in City Deanery 1 (Archdiocese of Vienna)

The City Deanery 1 is a dean's office in the Vicariate Wien Stadt of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vienna .

It comprises six parishes in Vienna's 1st district, Innere Stadt, with around 10,000 Catholics. The dean's office goes back to the city dean's office I created by Archbishop Joseph Othmar von Rauscher after the city expansion in 1850 and the Austrian Concordat of 1855 , which initially also included the parishes in the new districts of Leopoldstadt , Landstraße and Alsergrund .

Diocesan development process

On November 29, 2015, development areas were defined for all parishes in the Archdiocese of Vienna. The parishes should work more closely together in the development areas, form parish associations or pastoral care rooms. At the end of the process, new parishes should emerge from the development areas. The city dean's office 1 forms a development area.
