State :

The Nord Stadtring is a street that begins as a section of the B 27 in Veitshöchheim, continues in the north of the Würzburg city center, becomes B 8 at the Europastern and ends at the Kitzingen junction of the 7 B b. Almost all of it has four lanes, but in the area of downtown Würzburg - between Veitshöchheimer Strasse and the Greinberg junction - the lanes are not structurally separated in the form of crash barriers or a curb.

future

For a long time it has been discussed to straighten the city ring north between the Grombühlbrücke and Rotkreuzstraße, thus leading the road over the site of the current railway depot, which is largely no longer used because important parts have been moved to Nuremberg. This project is currently not being specifically pursued.

For several years now, the four-lane expansion has ended at the junction with Bundesstraße 22 , a few hundred meters before the motorway junction. This situation is to be ended as part of the further expansion of federal highway 8. Work on the Biebelried bypass has been in progress since 2006, and the Rottendorf junction is to be converted into a "clover leaf" as part of this, as this location is currently very prone to accidents.
